The town of Stevenage is alive with parklands and woods. The town is full of green spaces, perfect for a relaxing stroll or some exercise. The most famous of all of Stevenage’s green spaces is Fairlands Valley Park. Fairlands Valley Park is situated in the heart of Stevenage, just a short walk from the Holiday Inn Stevenage hotel. It consists of 120 acres of acres of land to explore. Within the park there is an 11 acre sailing lake which hosts all kinds of water sports, ideal for any pleasure seeker. It is easy to see why the park was listed as one of the top fifteen free visitor attractions in the UK, alongside the likes of the Tate Modern and the Natural History Museum.
There are however, plenty of other park and woodland areas within Stevenage. Some other areas include:
- Peartree Park
- Loves Wood
- Ridlins Wood
- Shephalbury Park
- Lady’s Wood
- Chells Park
- Box Wood
